Jake Hill ‘extremely happy’ after closing the gap in BTCC title race
Jake Hill left Knockhill at the weekend feeling ‘extremely happy’ after closing the gap to Tom Ingram in the British Touring Car Championship standings to just three points.
The West Surrey Racing driver arrived at the seventh event of the season with a 21-point deficit to make up but a strong performance – which included a sixth win of the year in race two – saw the pendulum swing back towards the BMW driver in Scotland.
“I’m leaving Knockhill with a winners’ hat so I’m extremely happy with how today’s gone,” said Hill. “We’ve had two fifth-place finishes and a win, which is mega.
“Neither Tom Ingram nor Ash Sutton, who we’re fighting against for the championship, had a big score so we’ve beaten them both considerably and taken the gap down from 21 points to just three.
“We are ready to continue the attack.”
