Santiago Urrutia heads Cyan Racing 1-2-3 in Zhuzhou qualifying
Santiago Urrutia continued Cyan Racing’s dominance of the FIA TCR World Tour weekend at Zhuzhou in China to head a 1-2-3 in qualifying, with the Uruguayan driver having topped all sessions so far.
Urrutia posted a fastest lap time of 1:44.684, with team-mate and title contender Thed Björk a strong second despite carrying 40kg of compensation weight.
Yann Ehrlacher, who is placed fourth overall, was third fastest, 0.167 seconds behind.
Mikel Azcona was fastest of the non-Lynk & Co drivers in fourth place, right ahead of championship leader and BRC Hyundai team-mate Norbert Michelisz in fifth. The duo was 0.427 and 0.436 seconds from pole respectively.
Esteban Guerrieri, who is placed second overall, was sixth fastest for GOAT Racing Honda ahead of the top TCR China driver in the form of Martin Xie (Honda).
Home hero Ma Qing Hua was eighth fastest for Cyan Racing ahead of Marco Butti (Honda) and Néstor Girolami (Hyundai) who will start from the Race 2 reversed grid pole position.
Teamwork Motorsport team-mates David Zhu and Jason Zhang were second and third fastest of the TCR China drivers in eleventh and 12th place overall.
The first race of the weekend starts at 14:00 local time/08:00 CEST.
