Mikey Doble inherits race one win after Tom Ingram disqualification
Mikey Doble has been declared the winner of the British Touring Car Championship season-opener at Donington Park after Tom Ingram was disqualified for a technical issue
Reigning champion Ingram dominated the opening round, taking a lights-to-flag victory, however the exclusion now means he scores no points and will start the next race from the back of the grid.
The result means that Doble has secured a second-career BTCC win – and the first for the all-new Power Maxed Racing Audi S3 Saloon.
Four-time champion Ash Sutton has been promoted to second place and WSR’s Charies Rainford cups up to third after Plato Racing’s Adam Morgan was issued with a five-second time penalty.
