Aron Smith “shaken and stirred” after practice crash

Motorbase Performance’s Aron Smith said he was “shaken and stirred” after his dramatic practice accident at Brands Hatch.

Smith escaped injury in the crash at Druids early on in the second practice session, when he was trying to avoid the Toyotas of Frank Wrathall and Ollie Jackson.

The Irishman’s car suffered significant damage in the accident, and he may now miss this afternoon’s qualifying session.

Smith said: “I’m shaken and stirred, but the car is a little worse. I was right up in the wheel tracks of Wrathall and he stood on the brakes.

“I just tried to miss him, and it was game over then.

“I’m optimistic we will be back out tomorrow. This afternoon, I don’t know. But I am fine.”

PSP Images photographer Neil Tozer captured Smith’s accident from Druids.
