Josh Files claims final TCR Middle East pole position in Bahrain

Josh Files claimed the final pole position of the TCR Middle East season in Bahrain, beating Alfa Romeo driver Davit Kajaia by a mere 0.068 seconds.

“It has been a very close and exciting session, and it’s nice to win a pole like this!” said Files.

”The car felt much better, we changed a lot of things in the set-up and it worked well. Even in excess, as from a lot of understeer we went to some oversteer. The only thing we haven’t been able to solve is this tedious misfiring on the main straight, which costs me a hundredth of a second every time it occurs.”

Team Engstler driver Luca Engstler made it a close top three by claiming grid spot three just 0.101 seconds from pole position in his Volkswagen.

The session featured just five cars, with Brandon Gdovic setting the fourth fastest time, close to one second from pole, while Giacomo Altoe was fifth fastest, 1.1 seconds behind.

The first race of the weekend starts at 12:02 local time tomorrow.
