22-car entry for the inaugural TCR Germany series revealed

The TCR Germany series has revealed a 22-car entry list for its first season, which gets underway on April 17th at the Oschersleben circuit.

22 TCR specification cars will take part in the first series, including a number of drivers moving across from the ADAC Procar Series and the European Touring Car Cup to take part in the new-for-2016 series, which races at German circuits for five of its seven rounds, with a hop to the Red Bull Ring in July and a trip to Zandvoort in the Netherlands in August.

The most represented manufacturer in the championship is SEAT, with ten cars. Nine of which are the 2015-specification Cup Racer model, while JBR Motorsport will field one of the 2016 specification León TCRs, with the driver still to be confirmed.

Two German marques make up another ten models, with five Volkswagen Golf TCRs and five Opel Astra TCRs entered. Target Competition will run four Astras, while Lubner Motorsport will run one of the new cars, while Engstler Motorsport will run three Volkswagen Golf GTI TCRs in the series in which the Liqui Moly backed team is also working as the promoter, while Racing One and JBR Motorsport will run the other two cars.

Team Honda ADAC Sachsen will run a pair of Honda Civic TCRs for Steve Kirsch, the reigning ADAC Procar Division 3 champion, and Dominik Fugel. Honda Germany are supporting the programme, while SEAT Austria are backing the entry of Mario Dablander, the former ETCC Single-Make Trophy champion with Target Competition, in the #61 entry.
