Josh Files wins the first round of the TCR Germany series in Oschersleben
Josh Files has won the first round of the TCR Germany series in Oschersleben from fifth on the grid in his Target Competition-run SEAT León Cup Racer.
The only Briton in the field worked his way forward and took a dominant win ahead of Racing One’s Benjamin Leuchter, crossing the line 3.8 seconds ahead of the Volkswagen Golf.
Steibel Motorsport’s Pascal Eberle finished third, with Austrian driver Harald Proczyk fourth in the HP Racing SEAT León Cup Racer.
The best placed Honda was that of pole-sitter Steve Kirsch who finished eighth in the Civic TCR, with team-mate Dominik Fugel out of the points in 12th.
15 cars finished the race, with Engstler’s Tim Zimmermann and Target’s Mike Beckhausen the only retirements.
Race two takes place at 11:55 on Sunday, with Antti Buri starting from pole on the reversed grid.
