Steve Kirsch claims pole position for TCR Germany opener
Honda driver Steve Kirsch has claimed pole position for the opening round of the TCR Germany series in Germany this weekend in his factory Honda Civic TCR, outqualifying Benjamin Leuchter’s Racing One Volkswagen Golf by just 0.005 seconds.
Tim Zimmermann will line-up on row two in his Engstler-run Volkswagen Golf ahead of Pascal Eberle’s SEAT León Cup Racer, with Josh Files, who was fastest in Q1, fifth on the grid in the best placed of the Target SEAT Leóns.
Antti Buri qualified in tenth position in his SEAT León Cup Racer and will start race two from pole position on the top ten reversed grid.
There are just the three brands represented this weekend among the 17-cars entered this weekend due to the last minute switch of Target from Opel to SEAT this weekend while the Astra TCR continues its development.
