Josh Files takes pole position on Honda debut

Target Competition’s Josh Files took a dominant pole position in the ADAC TCR Germany at Oschersleben. The Brit made the most out of his new Honda Civic TCR ahead of Wolf-Power Racing’s Mario Dablander, with Jurgen Schmarl finishing third in his Target Competition Honda Civic TCR.

Steve Kirsch finished fourth in the Honda Team ADAC Oberlungwitz Civic, ahead of Mike Beckhusen’s Target Competition Honda. TCR International Series Salzburgring pole sitter Harald Proczyk finished the session in sixth in his SEAT León Cup Racer, ahead of Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Tim Zimmermann in the first Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR on the grid.

Tom Lautenschlager will start from eighth in the twin Volkswagen, ahead of Antti Buri, who is in double duty this weekend as he takes part in the International Series as well. Dominik Fugel completed the top ten in another Honda Civic TCR.

Except from Files’ stunning lap time, the field is quite close, as cars from second to eleventh were within four tenths off each other. The Target Competition driver had topped the first segment of qualifying as well, as Bas Koeten Racing’s Bas Schouten rather surprisingly failed to make it to Q2.

Files, Dablander, Schmarl and Lautenschlager all had lap times cancelled due to track limits infringements in Q2.

The first race is scheduled for 13:25 local time.
