Engstler add third car for Stefan Goede at Dubai

Engstler Motorsport have added a third Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for Stefan Goede at the TCR Middle East season opener next weekend at the Dubai Autodrome.

The team’s three car line-up will consist of 31-year-old Goede, from Bavaria in Germany, 24-year-old American driver Brandon Gdovic, and team owner Franz Engstler’s 16-year-old son Luca.

Goede is a relatively new racer, having competed for the last few years in the Austrian Histo-Cup behind the wheel of a BMW 325i E30 in the BMW Challenge, and will be trying his hand at front-wheel drive for the first time with the Golf GTI TCR.

“I want to see how it goes,” said Goede.

“I look at TCR as a big challenge and a learning experience. I am looking forward to working with an extremely professional race team managed by a touring car legend such as Franz Engstler. I am proud to be part of the team in Dubai.”

The so-far announced line-up for Dubai now consists of Engstler’s three Golfs and two Alfa Romeo Giuliettas for Mulsanne Racing, with more to be announced.
