Schläppi Race-Tec to field two cars in TCR Germany

Swiss outfit Schläppi Race-Tec will take part in the 2017 TCR Germany season. The team announced 27-year-old Fabian Danz in one of their SEAT León Cup Racers, while the driver for a second car is yet to be confirmed.

“We are very motivated to enter this great championship”, said team manager Mathias Schläppi. “Our team is ready for this new challenge.”

A former Renault Clio Cup and Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup driver, Danz will switch to touring cars from endurance racing at the wheel of a BMW M235i in the VLN Endurance Series.

“After a mixed season in the VLN Endurance Series, we decided to make this big step”, said the Swiss. “I can’t wait to start in this new championship with a team I know well.”

Danz has already done some tests, and set himself a top-eight finish in the championship: “I was able to get to grips with the car in testing, and my goal is to familiarise with the car in my rookie year. I hope I will be in the top eight at the end of the year.”
