Audi’s Sheldon van der Linde fastest in Oschersleben three-day pre-season test

Prosport Performance’s Sheldon van der Linde was fastest of all in the three-day pre-season test of TCR Germany. The Audi rookie, whose brother Kelvin is a former ADAC Gt Masters champion, was in the top three in all three days.

Defending champion Josh Files was not on track, while 2016 championship runner-up Harald Proczyk was second fastest in his HP Racing SEAT León TCR. Steve Kirsch came third in his Honda Team ADAC Sachsen Civic, ahead of Steibel Motorsport’s Pascal Eberle in his SEAT. Team-mate Sandro Kaibach came fifth in his Audi RS 3 LMS, the Austrian teenager joining the TCR Germany field for the first time.

“It was a really good test for us”, commented van der Linde. “It is obviously a new car, and we have a lot to learn, but that’s why it was good to do many laps. The teamis new for me, but we get on really well. Of course we will not know where we really are compared to the rest of the field until we do qualifying in Oschersleben at theend of the month. I can’t wait for the season to begin.”

TCR Germany will start in Oschersleben on April 30th.
