Niels Langeveld takes pole position at Oschersleben

Racing One driver Niels Langeveld has claimed his first pole position of the season, and the first for Audi in the TCR Germany series at Oschersleben, where he’ll start ahead of the Stiebel Motorsport SEAT León of Pascal Eberle.

With Qualifying 2 cancelled due to timetable pressures following ongoing electricity supply issues to the circuit, qualifying was down to the Group A and B format, with the fastest from either session securing pole, with the alternating positions set by the results in each group.

With Langeveld setting the best time of 1:31.707 within Group B, the Group B drivers line up on the odd side of the grid, with Group A, led by Eberle, securing the outside front row position.

Leading row two will be the Honda ADAC entry of Moritz Oestreich, with Luca Engstler fourth in the Engstler Volkswagen Golf, with reigning ETCC champion Kris Richard fifth in the Target Competition Honda.

Championship leader Josh Files will start from 14th for the first race, which is scheduled for 16:50 CET this afternoon.
