Race 1 penalties for Sheldon van der Linde, Tim Zimmermann and Simon Larsson

The huge raft of Race 1 penalties in TCR Germany continued, as three more drivers received post-race time penalties. Audi drivers Sheldon van der Linde, Simon Larsson and Tim Zimmermann joined the 15 drivers who were penalised by the stewards after the first race, bringing the total to a staggering 18.

Zimmermann and Larsson had originally inherited sixth and eighth respectively, but the stewards’ decision relegates them out of the top ten, pushing them back to 17th and 20th respectively. South African driver Sheldon van der Linde slipped down from 17th to 26th as a result of the penalty.

This promotes Gosia Rdest to sixth in the Target Competition Audi RS 3, ahead of stable-mate Niko Kankkunen. Ronny Jost is eighth ahead of Michael Verhangen, the SEAT duo ending up ahead of Simon Reicher’s Audi.
