Josh Files releases onboard video of Nürburgring crash

Target Competition’s Josh Files has released onboard footage of the horrifying crash he was involved in at the start of the second TCR Germany race at the Nürburgring.

The championship leader touched the Opel of Dino Calcum when the German swept to the right to avoid the Audi RS 3 LMS of Max Hofer, who was deemed guilty of causing the accident and received a drive-through penalty.

The contact sent the German into the wall, totalling the car. Files’ race was also over as he picked up suspension damage from the incident.

Fortunately Calcum was able walk away from the wreck of his car, a testament to the high safety level of the cars. Files still leads the championship by 77 points over Wolf-Power Racing’s Mike Halder.
