YACO Racing commit to the 2018 TCR Germany series

Uwe Geipel’s team YACO Racing, have confirmed they will join the TCR Germany series for the 2018 season, running an Audi RS 3 LMS for 17-year-old Austrian Simon Reicher, who moves across from the Dutch Certainty Racing team.

YACO Racing already compete in the ADAC GT Masters series, and have recent touring car pedigree, having raced in the Deutscher Tourenwagen Cup, winning the 2008 title with Philip Geipel in a Super 2000 specification Toyota Corolla, which was originally developed for the Danish Touring Car Championship.

“In the past we have often looked after young motorsport talents,” said team principal Uwe Geipel. “In addition to German drivers, drivers from Russia and Switzerland have also been with us at YACO Racing. It’s long overdue to start working with a rider from Austria and we are very happy to announce that Simon Reicher, who is already in ADAC TCR Germany 2017, could join us.”

Reicher has already tested with the team ahead of the season start, which is six months away.

“I’m very impressed with how well we worked together in the first test,” said Reicher. “I am absolutely sure that I will learn a great deal from Uwe Geipel in the coming season, because I’m still at the very beginning of my motorsport career.”
