Prosport Performance announce Sandro Kaibach and Max Hesse for TCR Germany

Prosport Performance has announced it will field two Audi RS 3 LMS cars for Sandro Kaibach and teenager Max Hesse in this year’s TCR Germany championship.

Both drivers raced with Aust Motorsport in the series last year, with Kaibach finishing 13th in the standings and Hesse only doing four races.

A three-time German Junior karting champion between 2010 and 2012, 16-year-old Hesse will embark on a first full touring car season with Prosport Performance.

“The two days of testing went very well, the car is great, the teamwork was a lot of fun and we improved from session to session,” said Hesse.

“Of course this will not be an easy year, but in the rookie ranking I want to fight for the title.”

Prosport team boss Chris Esser believes Hesse has what it takes to succeed in the championship this season.

“Max Hesse is a great talent and we want to put together a good package for the TCR again this year and hope to be able to continue the successes of the past season,” Esser said.

Prosport ran Sheldon van der Linde and Max Höfer in the series in 2017, finishing runner-up to Target Competition in the teams’ standings.

It is with this in mind that 20-year-old Kaibach, who made his ADAC TCR debut last year, is eager to challenge for the drivers’ title this season.

“Prosport Performance was the most successful Audi team in the 2017 season, and the change made sense to me,” said Kaibach.

“Having finished my first season better than expected with a place in the top 20, I would now like to take another step forward.”
