Robert Dahlgren tops official pre-season test at Knutstorp

The 2017 STCC champion Robert Dahlgren was fastest in the official TCR Scandinavia series pre-season test at Knutstorp for PWR Racing, beating Honda driver Mattias Andersson by less than a tenth of a second.

The Cupra driver lapped the circuit in 1:00.125, a mere 0.017 seconds ahead of Andersson who was fastest in the morning session of the test.

16-year-old Hannes Morin impressed in his first official touring car outing, setting the third fastest time of the session for Brink Motorsport, just 0.042 seconds from the top time.

Former STCC and Carrera Cup Scandinavia driver Jocke Mangs tested for Brovallen Design, although not yet confirmed whether he would take part in the season for the team, and was fourth fastest in his Audi RS 3 LMS. Mangs was 0.162 seconds from Dahlgren’s time.

Andreas Ahlberg of Micke Kågered Racing claimed fifth position in the afternoon test, beating PWR Racing driver Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky by 66 thousands of a second.

Brink Motorsport team-mates Tobias Brink and Andreas Wernersson occupied positions seven and eight, lapping the short circuit in 1:00.477 and 1:00.799 respectively.

Volkswagen drivers Albin Wärnelöv and Tomas Engström rounded off the top ten.

Norwegian driver Kristian Moe Sætheren shared the Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR of Insight Racing with Louise Frost during the afternoon session, with the duo claiming positions 12 and 13 respectively.

The 2019 TCR Scandinavia series season starts at Knutstorp on May 4th.
