13 cars set for the 2019 TCR Scandinavia season start
The TCR Scandinavia series organisation has confirmed that the grid of the season opener at Knutstorp on May 3-4th will most likely have 13 cars.
“We know that the situation is tough after everything that has happened this winter, but I am positively surprised of what I have seen during the pre-season test at Knutstorp,” said Greger Petersson, head of TCR Scandinavia.
TCR Scandinavia has taken over following the bankruptcy of the STCC AB late last year and the grid has seemingly dropped with ten entries compared to 2018’s 23 cars (20 full season).
“There are a lot of strong-willed persons that are working hard for us to get a good season and it is extra fun that our Danish friends from Insight Racing also have chosen to be here. We are realistic and working on the long term plans. I think and hope that we can get another couple of cars for the season start,” said Petersson.
Four drivers remain listed as TBA from teams Brovallen Design, Micke Kågered Racing and Insight Racing.
Brovallen Design had former Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia champion Jocke Mangs present during the pre-season test, Micke Kågered Racing had STCC veteran Tomas Engström and Insight Racing had Louise Frost and Kristian Moe.
