Harald Proczyk pips Mike Halder to Most pole position

Hyundai driver Harald Proczyk managed to beat Honda driver and championship leader Mike Halder to pole position in the dying minutes of the TCR Germany series qualifying session at Most.

The HP Racing International driver beat the Team Honda ADAC Sachsen driver by a mere 0.080 seconds.

Max Hesse, currently placed second in the championship, made it two Hyundais in the top three, a further three tenths behind. Julien Apotheloz claimed fourth position on the grid, a further tenth behind.

Halder’s team-mate Dominik Fugel placed his Honda Civic TCR in fifth position, just 0.068 seconds from fourth place on the grid.

Theo Coicaud of Team Engstler was sixth fastest with TCR Germany newcomer Jessica Bäckman in seventh position, seven tenths from pole position. Bäckman is only driving the round at Most as part of the Hyundai Customer Racing Junior programme.

Lukas Niedertscheider topped the Q1 session but fell down to round off the top eight for HP Racing International, just 52 thousands of a second behind Bäckman.
