Robert Dahlgren sails to pole position at Anderstorp
PWR Racing driver Robert Dahlgren continued his form from practice, and set pole position for tomorrow’s first race in his Cupra TCR, while championship returnee Jessica Bäckman has secured pole position for the reversed grid second race.
Dahlgren was over half a second faster than the rest of the field in Q1 and comfortably placed his Cupra into Q2, leading ahead of Mattias Andersson’s MA:GP Honda and his PWR team-mate, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
In Q2, Dahlgren’s time of 1:37.779 wasn’t quite as good as the 1:37.571 he set in Q1, but was enough to secure him pole position ahead of championship leader Andreas Wernersson, who qualified his Brink Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS in P2, and extended his championship lead to six points in the process.
Mattias Andersson qualified third in his Honda ahead of Åhlin-Kottulinsky’s Cupra, with Tobias Brink fifth in his Audi.
Behind Brink were the two Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagens of Andreas Ahlberg and Tomas Engström, with Jessica Bäckman eighth fastest, and therefore securing pole position for Race 2 in her Target Competition Hyundai.
Albin Wärnelöv’s Experion Racing Volkswagen and Hannes Morin’s Brink Audi completed the top ten, while the three Danish drivers and PWR’s Peter “Poker” Wallenberg all failed to make it out of Q1.
Race 1 is scheduled for 12:35 CEST tomorrow, with Race 2 at 15:20.
