Robert Dahlgren tops drying out first test at Anderstorp
PWR Racing driver Robert Dahlgren was fastest of all in the first test session at the Scandinavian Raceway, leading the way in a session where there was a rapid-fire success of improvements as the circuit dried out after overnight rain.
Andreas Ahlberg in the Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen led the time sheets throughout the first 20 minutes of the session, before a flurry of improvements in the closing minutes.
Robert Dahlgren first took the lead in his PWR Racing Cupra TCR, before MA:GP’s Mattias Andersson was the first driver to go under 1:48 in his Honda Civic TCR.
Jessica Bäckman then briefly took the top spot in her Target Competition Hyundai with a time of 1:47.831, before Dahlgren showed a true dry pace time in the Cupra, going faster with a time of 1:44.388, at this point 3.1 seconds clear, before improving his time even further to a 1:42.608.
Ahlberg set some improvements late in the session to go second fastest, still 1.7 seconds from Dahlgren’s pace.
Tobias Brink finished the session in third in his Brink Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS, with Jessica Bäckman’s Hyundai and Tomas Engström’s Volkswagen completing the top five.
Championship leader Andreas Wernersson was sixth fastest in his Audi, 5.1 seconds back.
The second test is scheduled for 11:40 CEST.
