Robert Dahlgren dominates first practice at Skellefteå
Championship leader Robert Dahlgren was fastest of all in the first test session at the Skellefteå Drive Center near Fällfors, Sweden – the newest circuit on the Swedish motor racing calendar – with the Cupra driver over a second clear of the field.
The PWR Racing driver was fastest at his home circuit, although none of the drivers have raced here before, with a time of 1:54.534, 1.6 seconds ahead of team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, with PWR finishing 1-2 in the session.
Third fastest was the MA:GP Honda Civic TCR of Mattias Andersson, with the Micke Kågered Racning Volkswagen of Andreas Ahlberg just another two-tenths behind him in fourth.
The three Brink Motorsport Audis then completed the field. Andreas Wernersson did just in installation run in the first half of the session in his Brink Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS, but went fifth fastest in the last part of the session, to lead team-mates Tobias Brink and Hannes Morin.
With the late withdrawal of Tomas Engström in the Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen, and the later arrival of PWR Racing Cupra driver Peter ‘Poker’ Wallenberg, just seven cars took part in the additional 40-minute test.
The second of three scheduled test sessions takes place at 11:30 CEST.
