Robert Dahlgren battles forwards to lead PWR Racing 1-2 in Skellefteå Race 2

Robert Dahlgren led a PWR Racing Cupra 1-2 in the second race at Skellefteå, and has retaken the championship lead, while rival Andreas Wernersson did well to recover from last to first after making a mistake on the opening lap in his Brink Motorsport Audi.

Hannes Morin started the reversed grid race from pole in his Brink Motorsport Audi, while Mattias Andersson made a lightning getaway to launch from eighth to second at the first corner, though the Honda driver soon dropped three spots at the next corner behind Dahlgren, Wernersson and Andreas Ahlberg’s Volkswagen.

Wernersson then went off at Turn 7 and rejoined at the back of the field, while Dahlgren set upon Wernersson’s team-mate Morin and took the lead at the final corner.

Andersson was now running in P4, but it was soon clear why his start was so strong, as he was handed a jump start penalty.

Andersson came in to serve his penalty on lap four, as Åhlin-Kottulinsky made a move on Ahlberg to move up to third, before passing Morin’s Audi on the following lap to move into second place.

Wernersson was scything his way back up the order and also moved up to third on lap five, when the race began to settle down, with Dahlgren pulling away while Åhlin-Kottulinsky defended to keep back Wernersson until the chequered flag.

Dahlgren won the race by 1.9 seconds ahead of Åhlin-Kottulinsky, and has retaken the championship lead by six points, heading to the next round at Falkenberg in four weeks’ time.
