Robert Dahlgren: “I knew it was going to be close!”

Robert Dahlgren just pipped the Brink Motorsport Audi of Tobias Brink to pole position at Falkenberg, depriving the Audi driver of his first Scandinavian touring car pole position in a close-fought session.

The PWR Racing Cupra driver was two-tenths away from Brink after one lap, but fought back on his second run in Q2 to put the Cupra TCR on pole by just 0.015 seconds, adding five points to his tally and extending his lead to 11 points over Andreas Wernersson.

“I knew it was going to be close, but not that close,” said Dahlgren to TouringCarTimes.

“We always planned to go again, but when I saw my predicted time, I realised it was going to be really close.

“I think we have a good race car. In qualifying, the car wasn’t quite working, it was too loose, but I know it’s a good race car, so it should be good fun and I’m looking forward to the races.”
