Robert Dahlgren remains on top in second Falkenberg practice session

Robert Dahlgren led another PWR Racing 1-2 in the final practice session at Falkenberg, with the Cupra driver just over two-tenths of a second clear of his team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, despite carrying the most ballast this weekend.

The 2017 champion is carrying both 60kg of compensation weight and 20kg of success ballast on board his Cupra TCR, but has shown the way again in practice, producing a best time of 45.333, just 0.002 slower than his time from Free Practice 1 this morning, despite much warmer conditions.

Dahlgren led the bulk of the session, while Åhlin-Kottulinsky popped up to second on her first run, finding more time in the car later in the session to close another tenth to her team-mate.

Tobias Brink finished the session third quickest, with the Brink Motorsport Audis edging closer to the PWR Racing Cupras, with Brink’s time coming just in the final minutes.

Andreas Ahlberg, running in the Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, was fourth fastest, just ahead of Andreas Wernersson’s Audi.

Hannes Morin was sixth in the third of the Brink Audis, with Tomas Engström seventh fastest in the second of the Kågered Volkswagens.

Albin Wärnelöv was eighth fastest in his Volkswagen, with Mattias Andersson, who’d changed the engine on his MA:GP Honda Civic TCR inbetween sessions, ninth fastest, with Danish driver Jonas Lynge completing the top ten in his Insight Racing Honda Civic TCR.

Qualifying is up next at 16:40 CEST.
