Andreas Wernersson closes on Dahlgren with Falkenberg Race 2 victory

Andreas Wernersson led from lights-to-flag to win the second race at Falkenberg for Brink Motorsport, while the Mattias Andersson was again the man who no-one could pass in his Honda, stopping PWR Racing’s Robert Dahlgren’s charge through the field to keep second at the finish.

Wernersson launched away from pole while Andersson quickly passed Andreas Ahlberg’s Micke Kågered Racing Volkswagen for second, while Robert Dahlgren had a nightmare start from sixth in his PWR Racing Cupra and dropped to sixth.

After a few laps, Dahlgren began to move forward, passing Tomas Engström’s Volkswagen on lap six, while Ahlberg and Tobias Brink came together on lap seven, with Brink taking third from the Volkswagen driver, with both drivers warned.

Experion Racing’s Albin Wärnelöv dropped out of sixth with a technical problem as an easy gift to Dahlgren, who was then let by his PWR team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky who was struggling for grip.

Dahlgren passed both Ahlberg and Brink on laps 11 and 12, and then closed up on Andersson’s Honda, but as in Race 1, Andersson proved impossible to pass, with Dahlgren spending the next 15 laps stuck behind his Honda.

Wernersson won the race ten seconds clear of the pair, with Brink fourth and Ahlberg fifth.

Wernersson now claws back ten points in the championship to Dahlgren, with Dahlgren now 16 points clear heading to next round at Karlskoga on August 17th-18th.
