Lance David Arnold next to sample Hyundai VIP car

Lance David Arnold will make his TCR Germany series debut this weekend at Zandvoort when he becomes the latest driver to get behind the wheel of Team Engstler’s VIP car.

Arnold, best known for his exploits in sportscars and his broadcasting work, will become debut in the Hyundai i30 N TCR that has been driven so far this season by Guido Naumann, Jessica Bäckman and Gabriele Tarquini.

Naumann has the best result of eleventh for the car, which is ineligible to score championship points.

“TCR cars without any ABS are a lot more demanding than – for example – the GT3 sports cars to drive,” Arnold said. “You also have to have a lot more discipline to manage your tyres optimally over the race distance.

“I really liked the production version of the Hyundai i30 N, so I’m all the more pleased to be able to race the car for two races.”

World Rally Championship front-runner Thierry Neuville is confirmed in the car for the round at the Nürburgring later this month, with Luca Engstler also slated to appear in one of the final two rounds of the campaign.
