Tobias Johansson returns behind the wheel at Karlskoga

Brovallen Design team owner Tobias Johansson will return to the wheel for the TCR Scandinavia championship races at Karlskoga this weekend, as the team celebrate their 20th season in Swedish racing.

“Gelleråsen is our home circuit and it is the right place to celebrate our anniversary,” said Johansson.

Johansson made his STCC debut in 1999 and became the first privateer to win an STCC race in 2001 behind the wheel of an Audi A4 Quattro Super Touring, also claiming the privateer’s title in 2008.

“We have been there for all of the different eras since the national racing became strong. We have raced with all technical regulations in the STCC, TTA and now TCR,” said Johansson.

“I am doing this to 99.9 percent because it is fun. But sure, I know how it will be when I am in the car waiting for the start, then my competitive instinct will be there. But I have no expectations for a finish in the very top.”

The 46-year-old takes over the team’s Audi RS 3 LMS from Alex Andersson, who drove at the previous race at Falkenberg as a one-off.
