Andreas Ahlberg praying for more rain on Sunday

Andreas Ahlberg has said he was glad the rain hit Karlskoga for qualifying, with the Kågered Racing Volkswagen driver having excelled in the wet conditions so far this year, and hopes to make the most of his P3 on the grid if it should continue to rain tomorrow.

Mixed conditions are forecast for much of Sunday, which could put a dampener on everything except Ahlberg’s results, with the Volkswagen driver having proved himself in the rain at the start of the year at Knutstorp.

“I always pray for rain, so that was good for me,” said Ahlberg to TouringCarTimes.

“We struggled a bit in the morning in practice – but we knew since Knutstorp we have a good set-up for the rain.

“I’m happy with our P3 in qualifying. I saw the forecast, and it says it will rain all day tomorrow – and we are also quite light in the compensation weights this weekend, so I think we have good chance.”
