Andreas Wernersson leads damp warm up at Karlskoga

Brink Motorsport driver Andreas Wernersson topped the morning warm up session at the Gelleråsen Arena in his Audi RS 3 LMS, while championship leader Robert Dahlgren opted to only set an installation lap.

With the circuit damp but drying, but with rain forecast for the rest of the day, the session may not have been of much use to the teams today.

Wernersson, second in the standings and starting both of today’s races from seventh place, kept the session much to himself, leading all the way. The Audi driver stayed out on track and steadily improved his lap times in the drying conditions, working his way from a 1:17 on his first lap down to his eventual best of 1:10.945.

It was the Experion Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR of Albin Wärnelöv who was his closest challenger, just over four-tenths of a second off the pace, with Wernersson’s Brink Motorsport team-mate Tobias Brink third fastest.

Tomas Engström was fourth fastest in his Kågered Racing Volkswagen, with Tobias Johansson fifth quickest in his Brovallen Design Audi.

Hannes Morin was sixth, 1.5 seconds away, while Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky just set one timed lap, a time which was 2.4 seconds off when it came halfway through the session.

The Honda of Mattias Andersson, the Insight Racing Alfa Romeo of Louise Frost and the PWR Racing Cupra of Peter ‘Poker’ Wallenberg completed the top ten.

The first race of the day is scheduled for 12:40 CEST, with Dahlgren on pole position ahead of Andersson’s Honda.
