Robert Dahlgren again on top in final practice at Mantorp Park

Robert Dahlgren was uncatchable for the second session running at Mantorp Park, with the PWR Racing Cupra driver finishing four-tenths ahead of championship rival Andreas Wernersson’s Audi, with team-mate Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky completing the top three.

Dahlgren threw down the gauntlet early on with a time of 1:19.868, just slightly faster than his first practice time, before improving to a time of 1:19.736 before the end of the session in his Cupra TCR.

Wernersson couldn’t get below the 1:20 barrier in his Audi RS 3 LMS, while Åhlin-Kottulinsky was a further three-tenths of a second behind in her Cupra.

Andreas Ahlberg was fourth fastest in his Kågered Racing Volkswagen, one second from Dahlgren, with Hannes Morin fifth in his Brink Audi.

Daniel Haglöf found more pace in his Cupra and was sixth quickest in the second test, 1.2 seconds from his team-mate, with Dahlgren’s closest championship rival Tobias Brink seventh in his Audi RS 3 LMS.

Peter ‘Poker’ Wallenberg missed the session as the PWR Racing team were still working on repairing his suspension, which was damaged after his hit Albin Wärnelöv’s Volkswagen in the first test, with Wärnelöv himself joining the session slightly late.

Another car missing from the session was Mattias Andersson’s Honda, who’d been second fastest in the first practice. The MA:GP Honda driver discovered a suspension problem just ahead of the second test, with the team working on resolving it before qualifying.

Qualifying follows at 15:35 CEST.
