Lestrup Racing aiming for two-car Volkswagen 2020 programme

Lestrup Racing is aiming to be back on the grid for the 2020 STCC TCR Scandinavia season with a pair of Volkswagens.

“We are aiming to be on the grid with two cars and our goal is to fight for victories, just like in 2018,” said team owner Fredrik Lestrup.

The team took part in the 2018 STCC season, claiming third place in the teams’ championship and driver Andreas Wernersson finished fourth in the drivers’ championship.

“We showed as newcomers that we could challenge for victories, something we were proud over, keeping our short existence as a team in mind. We are going to continue build on that in 2020,” said Lestrup.

The team is negotiating with a number of drivers currently for their two Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR race cars.

“Something that is positive for 2020 is the new STCC promoters with Micke Ohlsson Bern. You can clearly tell that there is more energy, we have never had so many persons asking questions ahead of the season,” said Lestrup.

“We are talking with a number of drivers and partners ahead of the season and hope to be able to reveal more shortly.”
