Lisheng Shanghai Racing announce ETCR development programme

Lisheng Shanghai Racing, the company behind the MG6 XPower TCR, has announced a programme to develop a car for the ETCR.

“We are still in the very early stages of this project and we will unveil the brand and model of the ETCR car in due course,” said Xia Qing, chairman of LSR.

“At LSR we are all very keen on promoting the ETCR concept that represents the future of motor racing. In the wake of the good results achieved by our MG6 Xpower TCR we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to join ETCR from its very beginning.”

This is the fourth confirmed programme for ETCR alongside Hyundai, Cupra and Romeo Ferraris.

“We are delighted to see LSR expanding its commitment in developing a racing cars to ETCR,” said WSC president Marcello Lotti.

“With the MG6 TCR they have already proved their potential and we can’t wait to see the new ETCR racing car taking to the track for the first test. LSR joins the other companies that have already unveiled their projects, while further announcements are due to follow soon.”
