TCR Germany announce revised calendar

The organisers of TCR Germany have announced a revised calendar for the 2020 season with plans in place to try and run all seven scheduled race meetings.

With the opening round of the season having already been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, plans have now been in put in place for the season to instead kick off at Most in the Czech Republic at the end of July/start of August, with the race being moved back from its original date of mid-May.

Should the government restrictions prevent the Most event from taking place, the event will instead move to the Lausitzring on the same date.

Following the season opener, the four following events – at the Nürburgring, Zandvoort, Hockenheim and the Sachsenring – will all be run on their original dates, with the Red Bull Ring moving from early June to October to become the penultimate meeting of the season.

Oschersleben will then host the season finale in late October.

“The health and well-being of everyone involved and the audience is our top priority,” ADAC motorsport director Thomas Voss. said. “We will continue to keep an eye on the situation and react flexibly as developments require. The start of the season in August is the start of a very compact calendar seven events and an unchanged format on the race weekends.”
