Tobias Brink heads Robert Dahlgren in Gelleråsen morning session

Last year’s runner-up Tobias Brink was fastest in the morning session of the official STCC TCR Scandinavia pre-season test at Gelleråsen Arena.

The Brink Motorsport driver beat reigning champion Robert Dahlgren, who made the first official appearance with the new Cupra León Competición TCR, by a mere 0.014 seconds.

STCC newcomer Mikael Karlsson showed impressive form behind the wheel of his Kågered Racing prepared Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, 0.109 seconds behind in third place.

Albin Wärnelöv claimed the fourth fastest time behind his new Hyundai i30 N TCR, 0.267 from the top time.

STCC veteran Mattias Andersson put his Honda Racing Sweden prepared Honda Civic Type-R FK2 TCR in fifth position, ahead of 2012 WTCC champion Rob Huff, four and five tenths of a second behind Brink respectively.

Volkswagen driver Emil Persson was seventh fastest ahead of Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, who drove the older Cupra TCR as the PWR Racing team is waiting for delivery of a further two Cupra León Competición TCR race cars.

Norwegian driver Magnus Gustavsen and Oliver Söderström rounded off the top ten.

The afternoon session starts at 13:00 CEST, followed by a one-lap shootout that will be broadcast live at plus.stcc.se at 16:00 CEST.
