Tobias Brink: “We had a strategy that worked”

Last year’s runner-up Tobias Brink broke the STCC TCR Scandinavia qualifying lap record to claim pole position for the second race of the Gelleråsen Arena opener weekend.

“We had a strategy that we were convinced would enable us to fight for pole and it worked,” said Brink.

The Audi RS 3 LMS driver was fourth fastest in the first qualifying session and managed to improve his time by close to three tenths of a second to the second session.

“I was disappointed that I couldn’t get it together in the first session. But we managed to get a really good car for the second session and everything just went right. We have a solid position for the races tomorrow.”

Brink’s team-mate Hannes Morin was the first driver to break the 1:06 barrier during testing but only managed sixth and seventh in the two qualifying sessions.
