War of words between Mattias Andersson and Tobias Brink
A war of words has broken out between Honda driver Mattias Andersson and Audi driver Tobias Brink after the STCC TCR Scandinavia season opener at Gelleråsen Arena last weekend.
“Tobias Brink should buy a new rear-view mirror,” said Andersson.
“The qualifying was a disappointment, it wasn’t perfect by me but I was hindered on both of my attempts by him. It made me frustrated and affected the whole race weekend as I had to start ninth in the first two races.”
The Brink Motorsport driver however stated that the Honda Racing Sweden driver often gets in the way of people.
“Mattias just got a taste of his own medicin,” said Brink.
“He is always in the way and should perhaps respect that younger drivers want to move forward in their careers. I like Mattias, but he should focus a bit more on his own driving than blame other drivers.”
The antagonists are placed right next to each other in the standings after Gelleråsen with Brink on 33 points in sixth position and Andersson on 32 in seventh.
Brink claimed a pole and a podium finish from the season opener while Andersson finished second in the third race after making one of his usual lightning starts from fourth on the grid.
