Tobias Brink beats Robert Dahlgren in Skellefteå first free practice

Brink Motorsport driver Tobias Brink beat local driver and reigning champion Robert Dahlgren in the first free practice session of the STCC TCR Scandinavia weekend at Skellefteå Drivecenter Arena.

Brink lapped the 4100m circuit in 1:53.477 and was 0.343 seconds faster than PWR Racing driver Dahlgren, who topped yesterday’s test session with a faster lap time.

Points leader Oliver Söderström was third fastest, while team-mate Rob Huff was ninth fastest as Lestrup Racing Team reported continued power issues with his Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.

Brink’s team-mate Hannes Morin was fourth fastest ahead of Honda Racing Sweden driver Mattias Andersson, eight and nine tenths of a second behind respectively.

And the Honda driver made it out on track after the session had started as the team was awaiting delivery of new dampers by air freight.

Andreas Ahlberg, who topped the morning test session yesterday, was sixth fastest ahead of Kågered Racing team-mate Mikael Karlsson.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky was eighth fastest, 1.4 seconds from Brink, ahead of Huff and Emil Persson.

The second free practice session starts at 10:40 CEST.
