Tobias Brink: “I’m tired of being second”

Last year’s runner-up Tobias Brink had a solid STCC TCR Scandinavia weekend at Skellefteå with three podiums of which two were second place finishes.

“Our points haul this weekend was really good. But I am tired of being second, it’s time to step on top of the podium in the next race at Mantorp Park,” said Brink.

The Audi RS 3 LMS driver had a tough season opener at Gelleråsen Arena two weeks ago and left the circuit in sixth position of the championship standings.

Brink was back on form for Skellefteå and put hard pressure on main rival Robert Dahlgren in the second race, finishing just eight tenths of a second behind.

“I thought I had him. I had planned an overtaking move, but he found something at the end of the race and pulled away,” said Brink.

“But we had a great race car this weekend and I enjoyed each lap out there. I have made up a lot of ground in the standings and that’s the important thing.”

The Brink Motorsport driver has climbed to a shared second place in the drivers’ championship with Rob Huff, 12 points from Dahlgren.
