Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky inherits third as Emil Persson is penalised

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky has inherited third place in the first STCC TCR Scandinavia race at Mantorp Park as Emil Persson has been penalised.

Kågered Racing driver Persson was given a five-second penalty for an incident with Mattias Andersson that saw the Honda driver going off track and dropping from third to eighth position.

The penalty drops Persson from third to fourth position as PWR Racing driver Åhlin-Kottulinsky secures her first podium finish of the season.

“Things got a bit tight with Mattias, but that’s the way they want it in touring cars,” said Persson.

“I didn’t think it was unfair, but I understand that the stewards investigated it.”
