Tobias Brink claims second superior victory at Mantorp Park

There was no stopping Tobias Brink in the second STCC TCR Scandinavia race at Mantorp Park where he claimed a second straight superior victory.

The Brink Motorsport driver won the race again ahead of Rob Huff who crossed the finishing line two seconds behind.

Huff’s team-mate Oliver Söderström had once again a nightmare race. The Lestrup Racing Team driver started second but made a mistake in Turn 2, losing a spot to Huff and Kågered Racing driver Emil Persson.

Söderström was then able to fight back past Persson, only to veer off into the gravel trap at Turn 1 on lap 11 to retire from the race.

The off was caused by Söderström’s right front wheel coming off.

This left Persson alone to claim third position ahead of Kågered Racing team-mate Mikael Karlsson.

Mattias Andersson headed a big fight for fifth place over the finishing line ahead of reigning champion Robert Dahlgren, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky and Hannes Morin.

Brink Motorsport driver Morin was briefly past Åhlin-Kottulinsky, but the PWR Racing driver was able to fight back and reclaim seventh position on lap ten.

Morin’s eighth place means that he has the reversed grid pole position for Race 3.

Privateer Volkswagen driver Isac Aronsson finished ninth ahead of Hyundai i30 N TCR driver Albin Wärnelöv who rounded off the top ten.

Andreas Ahlberg was forced to retire from the race due to a broken turbo hose.

The third race has been postponed until 16:10 CEST from its original starting time of 15:33.
