Albin Wärnelöv returns for 2021, eying expansion to two cars

Albin Wärnelöv and Experion Racing will be back on the STCC TCR Scandinavia grid for 2021, with plans to expand to two Hyundais.

“We are investigating the opportunity to expand as we can work in an entirely different way with two cars,” said Wärnelöv.

“We are looking at the possibility to bring in a driver with more experience than me and we will return with more info during the spring.”

The 33-year-old, who claimed the 2016 Renault Clio Cup Sweden bronze, finished 12th overall last year after switching from a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR to Hyundai i30 N TCR.

“We have learned a lot about the new car and have more data from each circuit. I look forward to work further on this during the coming season,” said Wärnelöv.

“We have lacked about 2-3 tenths and we are working methodically to reduce the gap in order to breach the top five on a regular basis. We will start testing as soon as the weather permits.”
