Mattias Andersson climbs to second overall after “stressful” Skellefteå qualifying

Mattias Andersson has climbed to second overall in the STCC TCR Scandinavia standings after what he labeled a “stressful” qualifying session at Skellefteå Drivecenter Arena.

“Q1 was quite stressful as we had to change a damaged rim before heading out for a final attempt,” said Andersson.

“Fortunately the team made it in time and we were able to get a lap in that was good for third.”

The second session saw the Lynk & Co driver finishing second behind pole sitter Robert Dahlgren and the four points awarded for second has elevated him to second place in the standings.

“We are really pleased with the results, especially to climb to second place overall. The goal for the races is to get ahead of the cars in front of us,” said Andersson.

“We have taken a step forward compared to the season opener in Ljungbyhed and this track seems to suit both myself and the car better.”
