Oliver Söderström praises Lestrup Racing after frantic qualifying repairs

Oliver Söderström has praised Lestrup Racing Team that managed to get him back out on track during STCC TCR Scandinavia qualifying after suffering a broken driveshaft on the out lap of the 20-minute session.

“An unbelievable effort by the team to get me back out again, I can’t thank them enough,” said Söderström.

Söderström finished seventh after the repairs and made it onto the Q2 session.

But the Volkswagen driver, who dropped from second to third in the standings, could not improve his position and will start seventh for both races.

“How I managed to get that lap together to make it onto Q1, I do not know. I was sliding all over the place in almost all of the corners with cold rear tyres,” said Söderström.

“Then there was something not quite right for the Q2 session that we have to analyze. We need to try and bounce back in the races.”
