Tobias Brink forced to change engine after qualifying

Tobias Brink had a nightmare qualifying session for the STCC TCR Scandinavia race weekend at Skellefteå Arena, only managing ninth and missed the Q2 session due to an engine issue.

“It was a really tough qualifying, the first time in a couple of years that I missed Q2,” said Brink.

The Brink Motorsport team made the engine change overnight in preparation for the first race of the weekend this afternoon.

“We had an issue during the qualifying session which meant that the engine did not deliver full power,” said Brink.

“We had to change the engine during the night and I’m unfortunately not sure whether that has solved the problem.”

Brink is currently sharing third overall in the championship standings with Oliver Söderström, 22 points from points leader Robert Dahlgren who will start on pole from the first two races today.
