The chase is on Robert Dahlgren as STCC returns to action at Gelleråsen
STCC TCR Scandinavia resumes this weekend at Gelleråsen Arena with plenty of drivers aiming to beat and catch points leader Robert Dahlgren who has been more or less untouchable so far.
The PWR Racing driver has won four out of six races and finished on the podium in six out of six races.
“Gelleråsen Arena usually provides tight qualifying sessions and unpredictable races where drivers that perhaps isn’t regularly at the top that can spring a surprise,” said Dahlgren.
“I’m also on full weight, something that will be especially tough at this track. This could be one of our toughest race weekends of the season.”
Audi RS 3 LMS driver Tobias Brink is closest to Dahlgren in the standings, 39 points adrift, but will carry just 5kg less than his title rival.
“It’s time to deliver now. We’re heading there with a heavy car, but we’ve had good tests during the summer break and I feel more than ready. The goal is no doubt the top three in all races,” said Brink.
MA:GP driver Mattias Andersson is third after two consistent race weekends, just two points behind Brink.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky is fourth and topped the summer test at Gelleråsen Arena last week, heading back to the circuit with the goal to claim her first win of 2021.
“I have a really good feeling after the test, we were quick to get into our good routines after the break and we feel well prepared,” said Åhlin-Kottulinsky.
“The goal is always to win, but we do know how tough this championship is. So we’re going to give it our best shot with the ambition to climb onto the top step of the podium.”
Lestrup Racing Team driver Oliver Söderström was one of the title favourites ahead of the season after a promising 2020 season, but 2021 has so far been a disappointment for the young Swede.
Söderström is fifth overall, trailing Dahlgren by 55 points. But the Volkswagen driver is confident he can make up ground this weekend.
“The fight back up the order starts now,” said Söderström.
“I think we are looking strong ahead of Gelleråsen, especially after the successful test we had there. I won a race here last year and that’s my goal for this weekend, although I know it will be very tough.”
