Mattias Andersson left frustrated after battling excessive tyre wear at Anderstorp

Mattias Andersson did not achieve the results he had hoped for during the STCC TCR Scandinavia weekend at Anderstorp, battling excessive tyre wear on his Lynk & Co 03 TCR.

“The tyre wear was immense, it was like driving on the rims for the last couple of laps, it was horrible,” said Andersson.

Andersson runs the highest minimum weight of the STCC field on his Lynk & Co with 1350kg compared, to 1315kg for points leader Robert Dahlgren and 1265kg for Race 3 winner Robin Knutsson.

“There is something we’re not getting right with the setup, but it’s not easy to forget that we are 100kg heavier that some of our competitors,” said Andersson.

The MA:GP driver looked set to finish on the podium in the last race of the weekend but dropped down to finish seventh after contact with Hugo Nerman in the fight for third place.

“I had a car hitting my left rear wheel and I went out onto the grass,” said Andersson.

“The stewards said the move was okay and we have to trust them. But obviously I feel differently. It’s been a frustrating weekend.”

Andersson is placed fifth overall after Anderstorp, 101 points behind championship leader Dahlgren.
