PWR Racing wins appeal, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky’s result reinstated

PWR Racing filed an appeal against Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky’s penalty in the first STCC TCR Scandinavia race at Mantorp Park following an incident with Brink Motorsport driver Andreas Bäckman.

The two came together in the fight for fifth position at the Mjölby corner, resulting in a spin for Bäckman.

The stewards handed the Cupra driver a ten second penalty, dropping her from sixth to seventh position.

PWR Racing however won their appeal on the protest, meaning that Åhlin-Kottulinsky gets sixth position back and reduces the gap in the standings to team-mate Robert Dahlgren from 80 to 79 points with 105 points left.

The change also means that Lestrup Racing Team driver Robin Knutsson is demoted from sixth to seventh position.
