Axel Bengtsson joins Robert Dahlgren at PWR Racing

Axel Bengtsson is going to make his STCC TCR Scandinavia debut this year for PWR Racing, joining reigning champion Robert Dahlgren as team-mate.

“With Axel in the team, PWR Racing continues to bring new talented juniors forward,” said Marcus Ekström, team manager of PWR Racing.

“The combination of Axel’s young talent and Robert’s experience means that we have got a strong line-up for our title defense this year.”

Bengtsson comes straight from karting where he for the past seasons have raced internationally in the KZ2 class.

“It feels amazing to get the chance with the best team in the STCC, to get straight into strong material and work with really talented people,” said Bengtsson.

“And I don’t think I can have a better team-mate than Robert. We complement each other well and there are few drivers out there with the experience and success that he has got.”

The 21-year-old got a first taste of TCR machinery during the STCC Try Out at Knutstorp last year.

“For me this season will be about always finishing and getting as much information as possible,” said Bengtsson.

“I need to pick up my pace gradually so that I can help the team with as much points as possible for the championship.”
